“I feel like menswear has gotten to a point for me where it had to be thrown out the window and dragged back in,” the creativity-conscious designer J.W.Anderson, who is known for his unisex designs said backstage after his 2013 S/S menswear show,” There’s something that he's gone stale for a while in men’s, and I think you have to blow it up-then you've spawned a look.”

Just as clear as is shown on the 2013 s/s menswear runway shows, more so-called feminine elements, in particular, a variety of womenswear fabrics are added in a large scale. Designers tend to span menswear fabrics from the conventional butch canvas or twill to more “girly” voile, taffeta, or even the sheerest and clearest organza. Still, not focusing on creating a feminine or girlish mens look, masculine is turned more attention to in a shorter, tighter, or sheerer way.

I have to admit the difficulty of interpreting these growing prevalent sheer pieces, for they can probably make a slim boy look either slutty or sissy. Thus, in order to put up a complete ensemble which is appropriate but somehow still much revealing the hot trend of see-through, I choose an alternative path of playing with patchwork. Dressing in a large scale of sheer fabric requires a well-built physical shape as well as great bravo, while patchwork, which is of a little bit of structure and creativity on sight, makes it more comfortable and refreshing to reveal the body. To be more specific, I put a leather vest with cut-out detail which is re-constructed from a oversize t-shirt on the sheer shirt to strike another balance.
